Chapter President's Welcome

Dear ACHCA-CT Chapter Members, Colleagues and Friends:

I am honored to have been elected as the President for the CT Chapter of ACHCA for the 2022-2024 term. I have been a member of the College since 2016. I have been on the Board for the last four years and in the past two years, I served as Secretary.

I would like to thank the outgoing President, Jess Dering, who led us though some of the toughest years that we have ever experienced in skilled nursing facilities. Jess not only provided us with good sound leadership, but humor as well. She will certainly be missed. She will continue supporting the ACHCA in an honored role of Past President.

Since joining the college, I have found tremendous value from being a member. ACHCA connected me with some of the most knowledgeable Administrators in this profession that were always eager to share their best practices. When working in an industry that is almost as regulated as a nuclear power plant, I knew early on how important it was to connect with other Administrators. What I experienced as a member is that Administrators are always willing to share their knowledge and experiences to help one another succeed.

The Board of Directors and I will continue to work hard to meet the challenges that lie ahead. We will continue our efforts to provide value to the members of the college by offering continuing education and connecting them to the most valuable resources in the Nursing Home industry. We will continue to nurture the partnership with the Association and Leading Age as we all embark on the next chapter of our “new normal”.

My personal goal is to increase the communication between the members of the college.  What I have learned in the last few years is that we truly need each other. We cannot get by without out each other’s support and sharing of solutions. Finding our new normal together will not only make us stronger but it will allow us to grow as an industry. I am so proud to be a part of this profession and look forward to serving as President.

Thank you again for this wonderful honor and I look forward to your continued membership. If you have colleagues that have not joined the College, please encourage them to become members.
